Play Therapy
A form of psychoanalysis working with the subconscious part of the brain where play and creativity is the main language, and a child’s world. This is person centred therapy where the child or adult move at their own pace with some guidance if required by the therapist. New experiences and changes in neuropathways are created within the brain to support wellbeing, mental health and behavioural difficulties. Play or creative therapy can be adapted to all ages and helps in various ways such as emotional support, to understand personal feelings and thoughts. It is used for mild to severe difficulties and supports working through traumatic experiences to make sense of self and to cope in life beyond therapy.
NLP – Neuro Linguistic Programming
Is used as a way of changing a person’s thought process and behaviours. By working with the unconscious mind and reaching the deep areas where the thoughts and behaviours stem from, changing neuropathways to induce new thinking and healthy behaviours for desired outcomes and life achievements. This technique is widely used and is evidenced based in improving work oriented goals, daily struggles, psychological disorders, depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD and phobias.
EMDR – Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing
This approach changes maladaptive neural networks in the brain by connecting the traumatic memory with new information. The body can then resolve its difficulties through the process. EMDR is useful for PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), fears and phobias, anxiety, self-confidence, people pleasing, addiction, unhelpful behaviours, depression, anxiety etc. It is also useful for those who struggle to talk about their emotions. It works with the subconscious mind and stuck emotions within the brain and body.
Hypnotherapy
Through the use of a mind-body approach hypnosis works with the subconscious mind to focus on root issues and elevate them safely. This form of treatment is used medically, psychologically and proven to dissolve disorders and concerns. Hypnosis changes thinking patterns and helps people to gain control over the burden of pain, unhelpful thinking or unhelpful behaviours and habits.
Brainspotting
Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of challenging symptoms. Our body holds onto trauma and represents this through somatic sensations and pain such as anxiety through stomach aches or migraines. This works with the Sub Neo Cortex where our unconscious memory is stored and aids healing where we suppress the most and have no idea of. Brainspotting supports minor, moderate, severe and extreme mental health and psychological factors in children to senior adults from anxiety, eating conditions, control, suicide, loss and bereavement, depression, anger, addiction, chronic fatigue syndrome, fybromaralgia and any other associated concerns affecting the ability to be pain free both emotionally and physically.

Perhaps you do not feel good enough, perhaps bullying experiences stop you moving forward, perhaps you find it hard to maintain relationships. Are you struggling to parent or accept a family member or friend? Maybe something feels wrong, and you have no idea why or what to do. Perhaps you feel stuck? Maybe you feel numb, and make impulsive decisions, or are you a people pleaser?
Either way as an integrated psychotherapist with an abundance of qualifications and experiences I would love to help you. I understand that talking therapy is sometimes not quite enough to get to the real suppressed and deep rooted reason for experiencing emotional difficulty. Through assessment we can work together to find the best approach for you to target the root cause.
Are you suffering with headaches, stomach aches, heavy legs, muscle fatigue, exhaustion, insomnia, nightmares, night terrors, intrusive thoughts or physical pain? Are you feeling anxious, sick and overwhelmed? Are you worried when a family member leaves the house or are you waiting for the next bad thing to happen? If so and regardless of age, it is likely that your mind and body is holding on to something unresolved.
The subconscious mind is powerful and defines many concerns we are not conscious of. The approaches I use are renounced and evidenced based in line with modern neurobiology, to start the healing path to feeling as you deserve to heal. We all deserve to be happy, every child, adolescent, tween, adult, and family unit. I do recommend any experience of physical pain has been ruled out as anything serious by the GP. I can work with you prior and alongside, however it is highly recommended that you seek professional medical advice.
I also facilitate and guide in therapeutic parenting and help people to understand the psychology behind its purpose and the reasons it works. I experience lots of parents, carers and professionals feeling overwhelmed and out of control as a result of behaviours from a child or young person. I find that by working with parents or carers initially, the child benefits without receiving therapy themselves or receives short term therapy.
I also offer life coaching and clinical or operational supervision to trainees and professionals within the therapy world, in education or the public and private sector. Our job roles in life can contribute to hindered wellbeing and supervision can be liquid gold when we work through what is happening. When we internalise upset this is detrimental and can leave us feeling stuck, resentful, and angry. Physical pain can also set in, and without avoidance this overspills into our personal life which magnifies unnecessarily.
